World Cup lucky dip(2010/6/16)
Last week we started a World Cup lucky dip at the main school in Nakajima machi. It is free for all our young learners and it is a great opportunity to use English to learn a little more about the countries involved in the World Cup South Africa 2010. It only costs 500 yen for our adult students to select a World Cup team at random. All the money collected will go into the lucky dip fund which I will present to the student or two students who picked the winning team after the World Cup final is played on July 11th.
All students have to do after paying the entry fee is to close their eyes, put their hand into the lucky dip bag and pull out the name of one of the 32 teams competing in the World Cup now.
Each World Cup national team is allowed to be picked twice. There will also be a nice, big present for the winner of the young learners’ lucky dip.
Good luck with the lucky dip and may the best team win!
Stephen
